			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have social anxiety. At times, it can be tolerable; but still its pretty bad all of the time.</p>
<p>I really want to get a job soon, I&#8217;m 18 and haven&#8217;t had a job yet! It&#8217;s embarassing.<br />
But my social anxiety is just so bad.</p>
<p>Before I even get a job, I want help so I can feel okay enough to get a job.<br />
How do I go about getting help? Should I go to therapy? Get medication??<br />
<br />Anxiety by definition is worrying about the future.  The less uncertainty there is about your future, the less anxiety there will be.</p>
<p>Before getting a job, I would do part-time volunteer work at a place that resembles the field in which you want to work.  You can get a guidance counselor from school to help you with this.</p>
<p>Repeated exposure &amp; repetition reduces anxiety.  When the time comes to look for a job, you will have gained the confidence to go to your supervisors and manager(s) to ask for a letter of recommendation and a couple job references.  Your guidance counselor can also be a reference and can direct you to online resources for creating a resume and a cover letter for prospective employers.</p>
<p>When you are job-hunting, you should research the company online and go to the actual building you would be working in should you be hired.  The less uncertainty you have about a situation, the less anxiety you will have.  Remember, repeated exposure &amp; repetition reduces anxiety.</p>
<p>If you want a herbal remedy to calm your nerves without making you drowsy, try Valerian Root.</p>

It was so bad that my anxiety kept me from using the bathroom in the middle of the night out of fear of making noise. I also did this when I was at home. In high school I would hate opening to door from my bedroom to go to the bathroom or kitchen because I always felt dread that my parents or visitors were watching my every move. i always don&#8217;t want others to hear me walk around the house. what can i do about this problem?<br />

I have been told that cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) is really good treatment. but what medication can reduce my blushing and shaking ect.. So I&#8217;m more stable? I&#8217;m from Australia if that makes a difference with medication avaliable or not. iv had this for a year now, I thought it would go by itself, clearly not.</p>

<br />i do not advise medication for this that your experiencing and i personally think that CBT is going to be of no use to you what so ever. it needs to come from within you need to understand why you feeel like this and that would mean going to a counsellor who practices person centred therapy or humanistic theory&#8217;s </p>

Although I&#8217;ve self diagnosed this my symptoms seems to point to Social anxiety disorder. </p>
<p>My symptoms are extreme nervousness sitting in a place where there&#8217;s a lot of people sitting close to me and when it goes quite quiet I start to feel my face getting hot, and i start sweating, i become aware of my breathing and then i&#8217;d hold my breathe then keep taking sharp breathes, and i get very fidgety and feel like i need to get out of the room but the more i think about that the more i panic and my version gets blurry. It can get really bad to the point where i feel like I&#8217;m suffocating, but if i start breathing i hyperventilate and i get paranoid that people will notice my behaviour.</p>
<p>Anyway I just want to know what they do in the sessions because i heard people recover from it in sessions or so. Thanks x<br />
<br />I suffer from axiety attacks, or <a href="http://www.anxietypanicdisordertreatment.com" target=_self>Panic Attacks</a> as they are also reffered to. generally in meeting rooms and crouded places, i had pretty much given up on myself getting over the issue and thought i&#8217;d be avoiding situation all through my life. but my doctor prescribed me some &quot;propranolol&quot;  (litterally about 5 days ago) which basically blocks the adrenalin gland somehow, thus stopping the panic attacks, heart racing, sweating, dizzyness, and it seems to give me a sense of no fear around situations i&#8217;d normally dread. you can get this drug (propranolol) in very low 10mg doses, and they give it to people taking driving tests / it&#8217;s also used for performers to combat stage fright / and for people with heart conditions as it regulates their heart beat.<br />
i have had no side effects and it is effective within an hour after taking it. not addictive either so this would be a great temporary solution to get you on right track. for me so far so good&#8230; look it up<br />
i am slowly putting myself in situation that trigger of my <a href="http://www.anxietypanicdisordertreatment.com" target=_self>Anxiety Attacks</a> so that i can train my mind to see that i&#8217;m going to be ok, i&#8217;m not going to burn up and die, and eventually stop taking it.<br />
it&#8217;s stopped all my fears over night!</p>

<p>I need help with finding some kind of specific therepy for S.A.D<br />
<br />The most common treatment from a Dr would be one of the mood enhancing drugs i.e anti depressants Seroxat seems to be the pill that works best .<br />
Otherwise CBT cognitive behaviour therapy looks at how we think &amp; the effect it has on behaviour, learning to change unhelpful thoughts.</p>

<p>I understand the position you are in. I have social anxiety. My mother refused to let me be on medication because of the risk of becoming addicted to it and the fact that the side effects can be worse than the actual anxiety itself. I refused therapy because I cannot stand the idea of talking to someone about my problems and don&#8217;t believe in therapy as a whole. Instead, my mother researched on the internet of ways to control social anxiety and/or any anxiety.</p>
<p>A test study has shown that Omega 3, along with a good, healthy, balanced diet and a decent amount of excercise can help a person who is suffering from anxiety. And if, like me, you do not like fish and/or things that contain Omega 3, you can purchase fish oil tablets at your local store. It has been shown that, while it can not cure it completely, it can help anxiety. I, for one, do not believe this helps, but you may be one of the people it does work on, and it can&#8217;t harm you to test it, can it?</p>

<p>I live my life in constant isolation.  I can go days without leaving my tiny apartment.  I hate people.  I am very sensitive.  I struggle to make friends.  I cannot get a girlfriend no matter what.  I am smart and good looking, but I am closed off to any social interaction.  I am scared, angry, and confused about people.  Mostly confused, because I can&#8217;t see myself ever changing my ways.  I simply hate people for all their atrocities, and my experiences with them have been painful and traumatic. So I lock myself further and further away&#8230;<br />
<br />you sound really sad &amp; in need or some professional help~you know it&#8217;s quite possible it&#8217;s not the whole rest of the world messed up~it really sounds like you are the 1 with all the problems &amp; then blame these on the rest of the world~so why not get some professional help from the local mental health clinic &amp; do something that could benefit you~in the event you haven&#8217;t any insurance the clinics charge on ability to pay~you asked for some advice &amp; boo-ya I gave it to you♦</p>
