does anybody know how to overcome panic attacks?

By admin

ive had them for a few years now ive been to the doctors about them but i dont want to take pills . any helpful comments would be a blessing .

Panic Attacks, bloody awful things arent they. good on you for not wanting to take pills.
I hope in time the will decrease then stop.
I think the trick is to keep telling yourself that your having a panic attack, and that it wont last. keep doing this until you are the one in control.
Also try to rest and sleep and eat well.and gentle exercise, walking ect
I know theres no real answer here, but dont be beaten, you may be walking close to wall now, but soon you will be able to walk bold as brass dead centre, with your head held high.
( you will know what this means in time)

Don’t let em beat ya. Grab your nuts and wait for em to pass then just carry on. Don’t be afraid of em and lay of the booze and coffee all the time you’re having them.

I have had them all my life…………but I take meds to help me with them………♥
If you really have them bad …why not take something?
A natural herbal med is Melatonin…try that.
hope this helps you…I know what they are like! ♥

i had the same problem you did. i suffered from anxiety and panick attacks and i wanted help but i didnt want to take medicine. Finally I gave in and started taking zoloft. Its great! It started working within weeks and Ive been taking it for about 6 months now. Its like im a new person. All i do is take a small pill every morning. And the good thing is, i dont have any side effects.

I know you said you dont want to take any pills but you should atleast try them and see how they work out for you. Its not good for your body to always be under so much stress

I get them sometimes and when I do, I take a deep breath and when I breath out it will usually go away. I believe that people can overcome them without medication.

stress and or guilt comes with panic attacks. not saying you are guilty about something but people who feel pressured and inadequate tend to obsess over their worth and their success and feel guilty for some reason or another. this may sound hokey but i’m a christian and it worked for me back in high school (when i use to get them because i lived in constant guilt of being a teenager and living with an overbearing mothere…). i would have a mantra and it would be "jesus, jesus, take over…" you can develop your own mantra. close your eyes, begin breathing first and then in your mind or even whisper it say, "peace is a river in me. peace is a river in me". remember dont yell out your mantra…remember seinfeld…mr castanza would yell, " SERENITY NOW!! SERENITY NOW!!" lmao….umm that would defeat the purpose!! good luck!

Breathing into a bag to control hyper ventilation. but unfortunately panic attacks are very difficult to control under normal circumstances. This also really depends on what pushes your buttons try to avoid these which could bring on attacks. If all fails consult yr GP there are medications out there to control panic attacks. good luck.

I’ve had a few panic attacks. During really stressful situations at work. I try to think about what I,m going to be doing when I’m at home witht the family. You can try listening to Paul McKenna stress relief tapes or CD’s. His tapes are very good. Especially his fear of flying and weight reduction ones.
