I used to be that way too. I found total relief with the Radiant Recovery program.
It changed my life
I get nervous now and then, like when going to the dentist (who wouldn't?) but I don't panic at all. I went from total terror to anxiety to mild nervousness to 99.9% free and clear.

I also used the Linden Method. It didn't work for me, but if you want to try it let me know.

Dear TJ
I dont know where to begin because I love u so much that knowing ur going through all this pain breaks my heart. I dont want to see u suffer as I know how awful it all has been for u. Please do not apologize for not feeling well. You have to take care of u and do whats best for u. You are a good person and deserve nothing less; and in time I hope u grow to believe this. You are allowed to feel as u feel. It is very normal and natural to feel as u do right now. Dont ever feel you have to explain your actions when it is about your well being. Nothing that u have experienced is ur fault or makes u any less of a person. I hope when u see ur pdoc and u explain to him in detail how the panic attacks affect u; not able to breathe etc. and he can suggest an additional medication to help u cope and relax. U know I wish u the very best and am here for u always. Feel good and Gob Bless.

Go back and tell your doc about whats happening. Might give you better pills to counter then effects.

Sounds like you need counselling to help you work through the attacks and find out what is causing them, deep down. Then they can work out a strategy to help you overcome or lessen them.

Bit like holding a spider to overcome your fear of them... only after a LOT of preparation and your decision to do it, all this is done at your speed and how comfortable you feel at that moment.

Not saying this is what you need but once you discover the cause, moving on to lessen, not necessarily ending, the attacks will make your quality of life so much better.

Good Luck
References :
Hi Tracy I do feel for you and have had these horrible times. It feels like you are dying and yet the body is getting on with living.

The maain problem area is the adrenal glands and it is they that are overworking.

First you must find the cause if you can of them and the trigger. What caused the panic attack you are having right now?

second to find some solace, for these feeling will pass.

I suggest you get some help via a counsellor or a good friend. Someimes it is hyperventilating and that can be helped sometimes not always by breathing into a paper bag. This helped the body to breath more carbon dioxide and so limit the problems.

You could try taking up a hobby and putting your mind into it so giving your mind something else to think about.

Hope I have helped somewhere. If you like just email me and I willhelp you more if I can.

Practice proper and meditative breathing techniques. At the onset or in the midst of a panic attack it can bring almost immediate relief if you breathe slowly in through your nose until you imagine that the breath has reached the pit of your stomach and completely filled your stomach and diaphragm, and then let it out slowly through your mouth. Do this over and over until you feel the panic dissolve. I usually try to blow out more air than I've taken in, as this forces me to slow down. I would also like to suggest a book on compassionate meditation or zen meditation. It is a philosophy and practice that is ideal for anxious and/or depressed people, and is supportive of any/all/no religions. Good luck!
References :
First of all, it is sooo important to realize that you do have a journey ahead of you here. It may take a long time of only seeing small improvements, but one day you will look up and see how much better you are. Right now, just realize that you are not going to die and it will pass. For the long run, I would suggest finding a good therapist where you see progress-don't stay with one if you feel you aren't improving at all. Second, you have to get a grip on the idea that you can trust yourself again. This takes a long time but it will happen. Be your best friend. There are alot of people in your life that may not understand, but when you go through trauma you come out not the same. That is ok. One day you may even find a good use for the experience. Take good care of yourself. Eat healthy. Do some form of excercise. Challenge yourself to do things that are difficult for you even if they are small steps. If you have difficulty driving, for example, don't necessarily get out on the freeway, but a drive around the block is a good first step. Realize that if you were really in a bad spot most people are alot more caring than you would expect them to be. One of my biggest fears was always that I would make a fool out of myself or other people would judge me. So what and so what. If they went throught the same thing as you they would be fd-up possible worse. You will be ok, it is just going to take time. Attitude is a huge factor in how you come out of this. If you take charge, and decide that one day you will be better and you are going to work on this very hard it will be better than if you decide you are defeated. You are still in the game as long as you are drawing a breath in this world. Give it hell.
References :
Dear Tracey, I hope you are feeling a little better as I write this. Sometimes when things get too much for me I have the same sort of anxiety attacks. I have a gripping feeling in my body, my heart is racing and I am weepy and I tried continuous tapping with my fingertips below my collarbone on my upper chest area and kept telling myself to relax, relax, relax and after a short while I started to feel the stress leaving me. Try it and I hope it eases your anxiety. God Bless, take care of yourself.
References :
I don't really think you can control them, unless to the extreme of medication, but to help overcome them- relize your having one, and don't psyche yourself out anymore.
