Hey. ok....

First: Find a new shrink. Medications can help the symptoms of your illnesses. For example, anti-aniexty medications can help with your feelings of fear and nervousness. Medications can't solve the problems, but they can reduce symptomology.

Second: Try getting into INTENSIVE therapy with someone who will see you at least 2 times a week. If you can not get someone who will do intensive pyschodynamic or interpersonal therapy, look for someone who does DBT. DBT is specifically for Borderline Personality Disorder and consists of intensive individual therapy and group therapy.

Third: Read some books on the illnesses you have. Get all the information you can to help you identify your symptoms and behaviors.

It is VERY hard. I have some of the same illnesses and it is a struggle every day. Just know there are others out there that have similar troubles, so you are not alone.

Good luck.
References :
I think you need a combonation of things. Definitely a counsellor. I don't know much about psychotherapy, but I do know that for the anxiety disorders you should have a cognitive-behavioral therapist. Are meds a possibility? Counsellor is top of my list, though.
References :
There are bipolar support groups, and you said yourself that you don't feel your team is doing enough.... Maybe you're thinking it's time to look for another team. Are they listening to your wants?- psychotherapy is good when you use it to work on changes recommended, as it will be at your own pace. I realize some drugs can be addictive, but they can be used to help you function with them until you don't need them as much as you work on improving at least one thing a little at a time. Nothing's perfect, but I have seen psychotherapy and drugs together do wonders, as statistics back up the combination over either/or therapy. You know what is or isn't working and you will know what to do. Best wishes on your journey.
References :
Definitely need a new shrink, pronto!

Also, do a little research online about "dialectical behavior therapy." It is a highly effective therapy for BPD. If you're already seeing a therapist, ask her/him about this - if you live in a large enough city there may be practitioners who have the training.

Good luck to you!
References :
Agreed... New Doctor.
There are some excellent new medications, some non-addictive, out there that will definitely help some or all of those problems.
Besides that....Addiction is relative to the quality of your life. If you can't function and need medication to perform normally in your life, then it doesn't matter if you have to take the medication long term. If you get to a point down the road, under a Drs. care, that you can come off the medication, they can help you with any addiction problem too. Good Luck... hope you find a new Doctor very soon.:)
References :
you need to see a new doctor, one that won't even consider meds? Sounds suspicious to me. Those meds can't be addictive if its what you really need to be able to change. See a new shrink.
References :
You need a new psychiatrist.
Medication combined with psychotherapy will help you.
Change doctors - immediately!
